On 9 May 2026, the BIOSHIELD Conference was successfully held at the Democritus University of Thrace, bringing together researchers, academics, students, industry representatives, and stakeholders to explore the role of biotechnology in addressing climate change and promoting environmental sustainability.
The conference provided an excellent platform for the exchange of innovative ideas, scientific knowledge, and best practices in the fields of biotechnology, climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, food systems, and environmental protection. Participants engaged in inspiring presentations and fruitful discussions, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the strong connection between research, education, and innovation.
As part of the Erasmus+ BIOSHIELD Project, the event reaffirmed our shared commitment to developing future-ready educational resources and equipping the next generation of biotechnology professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle global environmental challenges.
